Science in the service of healthier pets
BioCare Katterdom develops natural formulations for the nutrition and care of dogs and cats. We combine nutritional science with careful ingredient selection — and test every choice against safety.

What we do
Three disciplines, one objective
In companion animal products, nutrition, care and regulation are inseparable. We bring all three together in one team.
Nutritional research
We study the requirements of dogs and cats across life stages and translate them into formulations with a clear rationale for every ingredient.
Formulation & care
From complementary feeds to grooming products, we develop compositions that work on the production line and in daily use alike.
Regulatory & dossiers
We prepare product dossiers, label texts and substantiation aligned with European feed and product legislation.
Our method
Natural as a method, not a label
"Natural" says very little on its own. For us it describes a concrete way of working: we prefer ingredients of natural origin, keep the ingredient list as short as is functionally justifiable, and include nothing without a demonstrable role in the formulation.
Whatever does not contribute is removed. Unnecessary colourings and flavour enhancers have no place in a well-composed product for dogs and cats.
- Ingredients with a demonstrable function in the formulation
- No unnecessary colourings or flavour enhancers
- Compositions matched to species and life stage
- Substantiation and documentation for every formulation
Our focus
Two species, two very different problems
A cat is not a small dog. By restricting ourselves to two species we can take the differences seriously rather than averaging them away.

Breed, weight class and activity level vary enormously. Our canine formulations account for differences in energy requirement, chewing behaviour and digestion.

Cats are obligate carnivores with specific requirements, including protein and taurine. Water intake and palatability are decisive design factors.
Research & development
From question to substantiated formulation
Every development project follows the same route: literature review, ingredient selection, formulation, stability and palatability work, and documentation. That makes our choices traceable — for ourselves, for our partners and for regulators.
Partnerships
Your brand, our formulations
We work with brand owners, distributors and veterinary practices building a product line from scratch or developing an existing one further — from first concept to production-ready dossier.
Frequently asked questions
Worth knowing
What exactly does BioCare Katterdom do?
We are a research and development company. We develop formulations for the nutrition and care of dogs and cats and take them through to production-ready recipes with supporting documentation. Manufacturing itself is carried out by qualified production partners.
Are your products veterinary medicines?
No. Our portfolio consists of pet foods, complementary feeds and care products. Veterinary medicinal products are strictly regulated in the European Union under Regulation (EU) 2019/6 and may only be placed on the market under the required marketing authorisation. Our products are not a substitute for veterinary care.
Do you sell directly to consumers?
No, we do not supply end users directly. We work on a business-to-business basis with brand owners, distributors and professional parties in the animal health sector.
What do you mean by natural ingredients?
That we prefer ingredients of natural origin and add no unnecessary colourings or flavour enhancers. Every ingredient must have a demonstrable function in the formulation. For us "natural" describes a method, not a marketing term.
Do you work with veterinarians?
Yes. We involve veterinarians and nutritionists in reviewing our formulations. For health questions about an individual animal we always refer people to their own veterinary surgeon.
Can I develop a private label product with you?
Yes. Private label and co-development form a significant part of our work. Get in touch with a short description of your market, audience and intended product category, and we will discuss the options.
